Observation & Direct Interaction

We discover your child’s strengths and challenges by interacting in a play format. We test responses in many areas of development. Particularly important to us are language, play, and social interaction skills. They address symptoms in Autism Spectrum Disorders and provide the foundation for learning and navigating successfully through a social world.

Treatment History

We want to understand each of our patients’ unique history to provide effective treatment. Our intake process includes reviewing information such as: past behaviors of concern; current mental and physical health; academics and occupational history as well as family history and dynamics.

Caregiver Priorities

Your input is important. Since have a collective approach, incorporating your priorities and concerns into our treatment plans are key. We want to ensure that our outcomes meet your standards as well as ours.

Causes of Challenging Behaviors and Solutions

Each of our patients has challenging behaviors that can impede the learning. ABA Therapy uses a two-step process to address these behaviors.

✓ Functional Assessments of Behavior (FAB): The assessment collects information about a behavior and the events before and after it occurs. This information gives us the reason why a behavior occurs and allows us to create a treatment strategy.

✓ Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP): The treatment strategy of a BIP includes changing the before and after events of a behavior and teaching alternative behaviors. ABA Therapy uses different techniques to change these events depending on the reason for a behavior.
